The Victoria Royals defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds 4-1 Wednesday night at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Arena in Victoria, British Columbia.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
This was the second of back-to-back games in Victoria for the T-Birds. The Royals won 4-1 on Tuesday night as well.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Seattle (19-31-4-1) has dropped seven of its last eight games.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The T-Birds take on the Red Deer Rebels at 7:35 p.m. Friday at the ShoWare Center, and host the Hitmen at 7:05 p.m. Saturday.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Victoria (30-19-1-3) took a 1-0 lead on a power-play goal by Austin Carroll at 2:23 of the first period. Brandon Magee and Brandon Fushimi had the assists.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The Royals went in front 2-0 at 11:01 of the first when Ben Walker scored. Carroll and Jack Walker were credited with the assists.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Jamie Crooks gave Victoria a 3-0 lead with a power-play goal at 19:11 of the first. Ben Walker and Joel Hicketts had the assists.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Both teams had 11 shots on goal in the first period.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Danny Mumaugh started the second period in net for Seattle replacing Brandon Glover. Glover stopped eight of 11 shots in the first period and his record falls to 18-23-4-1 with the loss.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Seattle got on the board at 3:40 of the second period. Shea Theodore took a slap shot from center ice with traffic in front of Victoria goalie Patrik Polivka. The puck rebounded to Luke Lockhart who took a shot that was stopped. Connor Sanvido got Lockhart’s rebound and backhanded it past Polivka for the goal.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Crooks scored at 17:03 of the second to put Victoria back in front by three goals. Ben Walker and Jack Walker were credited with the assists.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Both teams had 13 shots on goal in the second period and 24 shots on goal after two periods.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Seattle outshot Victoria 8-6 in the third period and 32-30 in the game.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Mumaugh stopped 18 of 19 shots in two periods of action.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Polivka made 31 saves on 32 shots and his records is now 26-11-1-2.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
