Kent East Hill Boxing Club’s Mustafa Ali Alsundani and Edgar Mendoza delivered convincing victories at a King of The Mountains boxing card put on by the White Center PAL Boxing Club at Evergreen High School on Saturday night.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Alsundani, a team leader and a student at Kent-Meridian High School, scored his win at 140 pounds. Mendoza dominated three rounds for his win at 125 pounds.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The event brought out teams from throughout the Pacific Northwest, Yakima Valley and Portland.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Glen Hamada and Roger McCane, a former national Golden Gloves winner, coach the Kent East Hill Boxing Club.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The club emphasizes education, community leadership, conditioning and the “Sweet Science” of boxing. It operates in partnerships with the Kent School District and city of Kent Parks and Recreation. The club practices four nights of the week at Kent Phoenix Academy\/Kent Parks & Recreation Center.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
