The Kentwood girls soccer team<\/a> beat Tahoma on the Bears field <\/a>Saturday evening in the teams first meeting since the state tournament last year.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The Conks took the Bears 2-1 in a hard fought match with both teams showing<\/p>\n<\/p>\n speed, numerous shots on goal and hard fought defense.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The Conks lead the entire game.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Last year the two teams met in the final game of the season with the state crown on line.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Kentwood won after double overtime and a shootout.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The Conks came into the game with a undefeated record and Tahoma came in with a no loses and a tie against Jefferson.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Scoring for Kentwood at the 35 minute mark was Mykala Benjamin, unassisted and she scored the second goal at 59.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n For Tahoma Mackenzie Henke scored at 67 minutes with an assist by Brie Hooks.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The two teams will meet again at French Field for the final game of the season Oct. 27<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
