After a week off, the Kent Predators return to action with a professional Indoor Football League game against the Billings Outlaws at 7:30 p.m. May 29 at the ShoWare Center.

The Predators, with a 5-6 record, will aim to upset Billings (9-2). The Outlaws lead the five-team Pacific North Division followed by the Fairbanks Grizzlies (6-4) and Kent.

Billings lost 55-54 last week at Fairbanks when the Grizzlies scored a touchdown with no time left and then won the game with a two-point conversion.

Meanwhile, the Predators found out they will not travel June 19 to Anchorage to play the Alaska Wild because league officials decided to cancel the rest of the home games for the Wild.

The Wild have struggled to pay coaches, players and other bills and won’t play again this season at Sullivan Arena, the IFL announced May 19, according to the Anchorage Daily News.

The league had taken over operations of the Wild after the first-year owner defaulted after one game. The head coach and several players left the Wild to join the Louisiana Swashbucklers of the Southern Indoor Football League, which is not associated with the IFL.

The Predators are offering a free ticket to active military for the May 29 game against Billings. Military personnel can show their identification at the ShoWare box office on game day to get one free ticket as part of Military Appreciation Night. Veterans and military family members can buy tickets for $11.
