Reporter staff<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n The American Cancer Society’s Kent Relay for Life fundraiser returned to French Field this weekend.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n As of Friday, 39 teams and 501 participants had raised $$91,870.47.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The opening ceremony began Friday evening with the posting of the colors followed by the singing of the national anthem and the survivors and caregivers’ laps.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The relay included a luminaria ceremony. The relay was scheduled to end Saturday morning.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Nationally, the overnight event brings together more than 3.5 million people, raising more than $400 million.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
