Sure Lock Escapes, which opened in 2022 in Renton, has added a location in downtown Kent.

The business had its grand opening Dec. 20 at 403 W. Meeker St.

“Explore a land where magic thrives, fairies flutter and pixies play,” according to the Sure Lock Escapes description of its Stout Oak Advertising Guild Kent location. “Meet wise wizards, brave dragons, and uncover hidden dungeons. Every twist promises new mysteries and excitement. Ignite your imagination and challenge your wits on this magical journey.”

The two escape rooms are:

• Dungeon of Doom: Those who are brave enough to accept this quest will venture out in search of the missing Amulet of Power, its trail having gone cold in the depths of the Dungeon of Doom, according to Sure Lock Escapes. While this experience stays outside the realm of horror, it will have some eerie vibes.

• Trixie’s Tavern Trials: This experience takes place within the Adventuring Guild’s own tavern, where one day a lone pixie shot out of the portal and immediately started causing such mayhem that, following many failures to persuade or capture her, the tavern was forced to temporarily shut down. She has stated that she will neither relent nor disclose what she wants until a group of adventurers can complete the series of challenges she set up. This experience promises to be dazzling, filled with lighthearted fun and magical moments.

Owners Beth and Nathan Linden and Steven van Doorn described in a Facebook post their plan for the Kent location.

“When we initially started dreaming about a second location, we quickly decided that the whole location would take place in a medieval fantasy world,” according to the post. “Most people have fondly experienced medieval fantasy stories in some capacity, whether in a book, on a screen, or around a table with friends. However, our role in those worlds usually take place only in our imaginations, as it is uncommon to get the opportunity to physically be in that type of themed space.

“We wanted to create a world in which adventurers could step into the center of a medieval fantasy story and be fully immersed in its unfolding.”

Store hours are 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday. Prices start at $35 per player for 70 minutes in Trixie’s Tavern Trials and at $45 per player for 90 minutes in Dungeon of Doom.

Sure Lock Escapes Cypher Island Renton location is at 17130 116th Ave. SE.
