A 61-year-old Des Moines pedestrian was killed in Kent after reportedly crossing Pacific Highway South, but not in a crosswalk, late Friday night, Oct. 25 and being struck by a vehicle.<\/p>\n

Ronald Paul Bigelow died of multiple blunt force injuries, according to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office Oct. 28 media report.<\/p>\n

Officers and Puget Sound Fire personnel were dispatched at about 10:28 p.m. to the 26600 block of Pacific Highway S.,<\/a> regarding a fatal crash involving a pedestrian, according to an Oct. 26 Kent Police news release.<\/p>\n

Officers discovered Bigelow lying in the roadway deceased. The initial investigation indicates that Bigelow was crossing the roadway, but not in a crosswalk, according to police. A northbound vehicle struck Bigelow, causing him to fall. A second northbound vehicle also struck the man.<\/p>\n

Both drivers remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, according to police, and it does not appear that driver intoxication was a contributing factor.<\/p>\n
