{"id":71211,"date":"2024-10-28T12:27:00","date_gmt":"2024-10-28T19:27:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/pedestrian-dies-in-kent-after-being-struck-by-a-vehicle\/"},"modified":"2024-10-28T16:12:46","modified_gmt":"2024-10-28T23:12:46","slug":"pedestrian-dies-in-kent-after-being-struck-by-a-vehicle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/pedestrian-dies-in-kent-after-being-struck-by-a-vehicle\/","title":{"rendered":"Pedestrian dies in Kent after being struck by a vehicle | Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 61-year-old Des Moines pedestrian was killed in Kent after reportedly crossing Pacific Highway South, but not in a crosswalk, late Friday night, Oct. 25 and being struck by a vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>Ronald Paul Bigelow died of multiple blunt force injuries, according to the King County Medical Examiner&rsquo;s Office Oct. 28 media report.<\/p>\n<p>Officers and Puget Sound Fire personnel were dispatched at about 10:28 p.m. <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/khGH2pTgNHWyHJ9ZA\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"map\" rel=\"noopener\">to the 26600 block of Pacific Highway S.,<\/a> regarding a fatal crash involving a pedestrian, according to an Oct. 26 Kent Police news release.<\/p>\n<p>Officers discovered Bigelow lying in the roadway deceased. The initial investigation indicates that Bigelow was crossing the roadway, but not in a crosswalk, according to police. A northbound vehicle struck Bigelow, causing him to fall.
