Kent-based Puget Sound Fire recently moved its administrative office to the Valley from the East Hill as part of its plan to modernize the business side of the organization.<\/p>\n
The new headquarters is at the 84th Avenue Business Center, 20811 84th Ave. S. It is large enough to house the executive leadership team, including the entirety of the Business Services Unit, which includes finance, human resources, information technology and the Strategy, Planning & Accreditation unit.<\/p>\n
Puget Sound Fire’s Community Relations Division, and the South King County Fire Training Consortium, also are at the business center.<\/p>\n
“Our vision is effective and sustainable fire and EMS services that maximize the resources entrusted to us,” according to an Oct. 2 Puget Sound Fire media release. “To be sustainable, our executive leadership team has worked closely to modernize the business side of the organization. The final step in our business transformation is occurring today (Oct. 2) with moving fire administration.”<\/p>\n
Administration offices previously were at Fire Station 74, 24611 116th Ave. SE. That facility will now house Puget Sound Fire’s Community Risk Reduction Division.<\/p>\n
The cost to improve the new site was about $90,000, with the move coordinated and done by Puget Sound Fire’s facilities maintenance team, according to an Oct. 3 email from spokesperson Pat Pawlak.<\/p>\n
“Puget Sound Fire was already leasing this space and we repurposed it for the fire administration,” Pawlak said.<\/p>\n
The annual lease for the space is about $46,000, Pawlak said.<\/p>\n
To visit fire administration, enter through the main entrance, which is on the east side of the building, by the flagpole, along 84th Avenue South. People may still visit Fire Station 74 for blood pressure checks.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
