A sampling of Kent Police incidents July 29 to Aug. 10:<\/p>\n

July 29<\/strong><\/p>\n

Attempted cash robbery<\/strong>: 4:47 p.m., patrol responded to a robbery that had previously occurred at the Kent Valley Motel, 743 Central Ave. N. A man said he had been outside the motel the evening prior when several subjects told him to get in the vehicle at gunpoint. Once inside the vehicle, the man said he was struck several times, and they then took him to several ATMs to have him withdraw money and give it to them. However, he was unsuccessful at withdrawing funds. Eventually, they let the man go.<\/p>\n

July 31<\/strong><\/p>\n

Man with gun<\/strong>: Officers responded to reports of threats with a gun at the Buena Casa Apartments, 25701 27th Place S., outside the A building. An intoxicated man was reportedly fighting with other subjects, pointing a gun at them, and breaking car windows. Uninvolved witnesses reported the incident. Officers arrived and contacted a reportedly very intoxicated man holding a handgun in his hand, screaming. Officers challenged the man and were able to verbally de-escalate the situation, making the man drop the gun. The officers detained the man, and he was later booked into the Kent city jail for investigation of misdemeanor charges. The gun was located and was found to be a very realistic-looking BB gun.<\/p>\n

Aug. 1<\/strong><\/p>\n

Robbery, assault of woman<\/strong>: 8:17 p.m., patrol responded to a robbery at the Shell Station, 25000 74th Ave. S. A woman relayed to the officers that she had been doing drugs with a man when he reportedly began to hit and kick her numerous times. The man reportedly took her purse and then began to leave but returned to assault her. Patrol performed an area check and was able to locate the man and arrest him.<\/p>\n

Aug. 3<\/strong><\/p>\n

Threats with a knife<\/strong>: Multiple officers responded to a report of threats with a knife at the public storage at 104th Avenue SE and SE 244th Street. Officers located the suspect and two victims and, through interviews and surveillance video, were able to confirm a woman reportedly had threatened the victims with a knife. After her arrest, she was also found to be carrying a concealed firearm. The woman was booked, and the case was referred to detectives.<\/p>\n

Aug. 4<\/strong><\/p>\n

Shooting victim<\/strong>: Patrol responded to a shooting victim who had walked into Valley Medical Center in Renton. The victim, who was shot in the foot, stated the shooting had occurred in Kent but was unwilling to provide further information.<\/p>\n

Officers grab gun<\/strong>: 8:10 p.m., officers assisted Puget Sound Fire with an active residential fire in the 26500 block of 108th Avenue SE by providing traffic control. The battalion chief advised that there was a male at the scene with a firearm and pointing it at people. Officers confronted a female who was detained. The male suspect appeared to an officer with his hand behind his back and left arm in the air. The suspect dropped the arm that was behind him, which had a handgun. The officer trapped the suspect’s arm\/hand against a parked vehicle. Officers were able to pry the gun from the suspect, and after a short struggle, the suspect was arrested. Both suspects were booked into the city jail. Officers were not injured.<\/p>\n

Aug. 5<\/strong><\/p>\n

Residential burglary<\/strong>: 1:13 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residential burglary in progress. Officers were just across the street on an outside agency assist for a drive-by shooting, so they arrived almost immediately. The reporting party stated she saw three or four males enter her apartment on her security camera. The camera was then moved, as were other cameras in the apartment. She arrived from Fife, PA announcements were made. Entry was then made, and the apartment was cleared, but the subjects had vacated before officers arrived. All suspects were wearing masks or hoods pulled up around their faces. The woman said she believes she recognized some of them. AFIS processed the apartment for fingerprints.<\/p>\n

Aug. 6<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fight at apartments<\/strong>: 1:14 p.m., officers were dispatched to a fight in progress at 64th Avenue South and Russell Road South. Officers arrived to find a male lying in the northern driveway of Riverwood Apartments off Russell Road. Officers provided first aid until Puget Sound Fire personnel arrived. The call was upgraded to medics quickly due to severe trauma to the male. Upon arrival, the medics spent much time stabilizing the male before transporting him to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. A witness said they saw a male run into an apartment in Riverwood with a rifle. PA announcements surrounded the apartment, and the subject inside the apartment surrendered without incident.<\/p>\n

Aug. 9<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fight at transit center<\/strong>: 11:06 p.m., patrol responded to the King County Metro transit center at Kent Station in the 300 block of Railroad Avenue North about a fight with numerous juveniles. It was reported that many juveniles were fighting, and one was possibly armed with a handgun. Officers arrived and found the victim had head and facial injuries. In speaking with witnesses, they learned six to seven people were fighting, and one had been armed. The suspect is outstanding.<\/p>\n

Aug. 10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Illegal discharge<\/strong>: 2:20 a.m., patrol responded to an illegal discharge in the 10900 block of SE 250th Court. Patrol arrived and found several homes had been struck with bullets, and they located numerous casings in different calibers.<\/p>\n

Illegal discharge, Part 2<\/strong>: 5:30 a.m., patrol responded to an illegal discharge in the 25000 block of 34th Avenue S. Patrol arrived and found a house and several vehicles with damage from bullets. Numerous casings from several different firearms were located.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
