In the primary contest for the 47th Legislative District State Rep. Position 2 seat, results released shortly after 8:15 p.m. Aug. 6 showed incumbent Chris Stearns, a former Auburn City Councilman, with 8,947 votes, or 55.64% of the total vote.<\/p>\n
Of the two Republicans battling it out in the Position 2 primary for the right to advance to the general election, Ted Cooke was garnering 4,432 votes, 27.56% of the total available, to Brian Lott’s 2,680 votes, or 16.67% of the total votes available.<\/p>\n
In Washington state, the two primary candidates with highest number of votes, regardless of party, advance to the November general election.<\/p>\n
In the primary for 47th Legislative District State Rep. Position 1, early results showed Democratic incumbent Debra Entenman with 9,286 votes, 57.7% percent of the total votes available, and Republican Kyle Lyebyedyev picking up 6,766 votes or 42.04%. As they were the only candidates for the position, Entenman and Lyebyedyev automatically advance to the general election, when they will square off against each other.<\/p>\n
