Separate fires struck three East Hill houses in Kent over the weekend, with a neighbor pounding on a door to alert residents in one of the homes.<\/p>\n
Nobody was injured in any of the fires and the fires were not connected, said Puget Sound Fire spokesperson Pat Pawlak in an Aug. 6 email.<\/p>\n
Neighbor alerts residents<\/strong><\/p>\n Firefighters were dispatched at about 6:25 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3 to a house in the 24300 block of 138th Avenue <\/a>SE<\/a>.<\/p>\n Firefighters arrived and found a large amount of fire on the exterior of the house and smoke coming from the eaves, Pawlak said. It took firefighters over an hour to extinguish the fire. A neighbor noticed the fire and pounded on the door to alert the residents of the fire on the deck.<\/p>\n The cause of the fire is under investigation.<\/p>\n The American Red Cross assisted the family with emergency needs. Renton Regional Fire Authority, King County Medic One and the Zone 3 Fire Cadets also responded.<\/p>\n Deck, attic fire<\/strong><\/p>\n Firefighters responded at about 4:10 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4 to a house fire in<\/a> the 22800 block of 106th Place SE.<\/a><\/p>\n Firefighters arrived at the single-story house, finding fire on the back deck and in the attic area, Pawlak said. Firefighters extinguished the fire in approximately 30 minutes.<\/p>\n The cause of the fire is under investigation.<\/p>\n Renton Regional Fire Authority, King County Medic One and the Zone 3 Fire Cadets also responded.<\/p>\n
