Public comments are open until Aug. 6

For two weeks — from Tuesday, July 23 to Tuesday, Aug. 6 — Fairwood and King County residents can give public comment on a speed limit reduction on 140th Avenue Southeast in Fairwood.

Proposed by King County Road Services, the speed reduction would be on 140th Avenue Southeast between Renton city limits and Southeast 192nd Street, which was the site of a fatal collision that killed four people on March 19.

The proposed change would be from the current speed of 40 mph to 35 mph, which would match the speed limit south of 192nd Street.

Members of the community are encouraged to give their comments and feedback and then share the opportunity with others.
