The Kent Cornucopia Days Grand Parade took to the streets on Sunday, July 14 to entertain the crowd with dancing, music, politics and humor.<\/p>\n

Several dance groups, bands, politicians, dancing horses, the Seafair Pirates and the Seafair Clowns were among those who participated in the parade down Fourth Avenue Sunday afternoon, the third and final day of the July 12-14 festival that attracted thousands of people.<\/p>\n

This marked the 51st year of Cornucopia Days, presented by the Kent Lions Club.<\/p>\n

In addition to the parade, the free festival featured a street fair, food court, musical entertainment and more.<\/p>\n

The theme this year was “Family, Friends, Fun and More!”<\/p>\n

5K Run winner<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tristan Houser, 26, of Bonney Lake, won the Kent Cornucopia Days 5K Run in a time of 16 minutes, 24.99 seconds. Houser helped Tahoma High School win the Class 4A Cross County state title in 2015, the same year he took second in the Cornucopia Days run at age 17.<\/p>\n

More than 500 people participate in the 5K Fun Run\/Walk on Saturday, July 13, that started and ended at Three Friends Fishing Hole Park along the Green River.<\/p>\n

Rounding out the top five behind Houser were Nebay Kidane, 16, of Kent, 16:33.44; Nichola Shepard, 24, of Kent, 16:52.47; Dylan Irey, 18, of Kent, 17:02.02; and Tucker Ramsey, 15, of Covington, 18:01.95.<\/p>\n

Sarah Dickson, 18, of Kent, won the women’s race in 19:52.6. The top four behind Dickson were Nicolle Brady, 42, of Seattle, 22:19.05; Nicole Burbank, 29, of Kent, 22:42.25; Ellie Beale, 20, of Maple Valley, 23:36.15; and Jennifer Rozler, 54, of Seattle, 23:46.22.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
