A sampling of Kent Police incidents May 26 to June 10:<\/p>\n

May 26<\/strong><\/p>\n

Barber shop <\/strong>damages<\/strong>: Officers thoroughly investigated a felony-level malicious mischief case at a barber shop on South 212th Street and 84th Avenue South, which incurred over $8,000 in damage from broken windows. Officers identified a suspect with prior conflicts with the shop’s owners through video surveillance and an interview with the suspect’s ex. The case was referred to detectives for further action.<\/p>\n

May 27<\/strong><\/p>\n

Alpha XR robbery<\/strong>: 10:40 p.m., officers responded to an armed robbery at Alpha XR, 25605 104th Ave. SE. Initially, the employee reported stolen items by a female who left. Later, it was updated that the victim’s wallet was stolen by a male suspect armed with a gun and wearing a security jacket. The male took the victim’s purse after demanding her property at gunpoint.<\/p>\n

May 28<\/strong><\/p>\n

Attempted <\/strong>robbery<\/strong>: Officers responded to a threat in progress at Burritos El Incapaz, 326 W. Meeker St. Despite language barriers, they determined an attempted robbery and harassment had occurred. The suspect, although difficult, was arrested, and items related to the offenses were found in their backpack, leading to a case filed with the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.<\/p>\n

May 29<\/strong><\/p>\n

Apartment assault<\/strong>: 12:04 p.m., officers were called to The Haven Apartments, 25426 98th Ave. S., for an assault. A maintenance worker encountered a squatter in a vacant unit who attacked him with a metal rod, causing head injuries. The suspect fled and was not found.<\/p>\n

May 31<\/strong><\/p>\n

Carjacking<\/strong>: 7 p.m., a carjacking took place at 511 Central Ave. S., where the victim’s vehicle was taken at<\/p>\n

knifepoint.<\/p>\n

Student robbery<\/strong>: A juvenile male was robbed of various items, including his cellphone, backpack, laptop, clothing and shoes, reportedly by a group of Polynesian males, likely students at Mill Creek Middle School.<\/p>\n

June 1<\/strong><\/p>\n

Domestic assault<\/strong>: 2:55 a.m., officers responded to Valli Kee Apartment, 23401 104th Ave. SE., for a physical domestic involving a mother and daughter. The mother reported being assaulted by her daughter, witnessed by a friend. Probable cause for fourth-degree assault domestic violence was established for the daughter, who was armed with a knife and barricaded herself in her bedroom. Despite attempts to de-escalate, the daughter refused to come out. A warrant was issued, and officers used less lethal options to arrest her safely. She was later medically evaluated at Valley Medical Center in Renton.<\/p>\n

Multiple shots <\/strong>fired<\/strong>: 2:40 a.m., officers were dispatched to sounds of an illegal discharge near 26200 116th Avenue SE. Two people reported multiple shots fired and yelling. Despite efforts, no incident was located as officers were pre-empted for a priority call. At 7 a.m., officers responded to a report of shell casings at 26220 116th Ave. SE. They collected 41 9mm casings and are gathering video evidence. No damage or victims were found at the scene.<\/p>\n

Shots fired<\/strong>: A victim reported being shot at while parked at an industrial park near 72nd Avenue South and South 228th Street. The suspects yelled at them, followed their truck, and fired shots, hitting the vehicle. The suspects were not located.<\/p>\n

June 2<\/strong><\/p>\n

Apartment robbery<\/strong>: 12:09 p.m., officers responded to a robbery at Signature Pointe Apartments, 6108 S. 253rd St. The victim reported three known suspects forced entry, assaulted him and stole items from his apartment. They also coerced him into signing over his vehicle.<\/p>\n

7-Eleven robbery<\/strong>: Officers responded to a robbery at the 7-Eleven, 18010 E.Valley Highway. Four suspects from a blue sedan entered the store, possibly armed, and stole cash and items. Kent officers located the vehicle, leading to a pursuit and crash.<\/p>\n

ampm robbery<\/strong>: 11:57 p.m., officers were dispatched to a strong-armed robbery at the ampm, 24014 116th Ave. SE, involving three suspects, one of whom implied he had a gun. Kent officers pursued the vehicle into Des Moines, where it crashed, and one suspect fled. A K9 track was conducted without success, and the vehicle was impounded.<\/p>\n

June 7<\/strong><\/p>\n

FBI arrest assist<\/strong>: The FBI requested assistance with an arrest on East Hill. They had been surveilling a suspect and needed police to apprehend him on outstanding warrants and then transport him to the police department for an interview. After confirming the warrants, the suspect was arrested and transported to the police department.<\/p>\n

June 9<\/strong><\/p>\n

Small bomb dismantled<\/strong>: A male individual reported that he returned home from jail and found a bomb on his floor. He then brought the device to his bail bonds office before calling 911. The sergeant contacted the Port of Seattle bomb squad, who arrived and disposed of the device. It was determined to be a homemade firework, like an M80. The bomb squad dismantled.<\/p>\n

June 10<\/strong><\/p>\n

7-Eleven robbery<\/strong>: 2:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to a reported robbery at the 7-Eleven, 13131 SE 240th St. The incident involved a robbery without weapons but included an assault on the store employee. The suspects fled the scene in a bronze SUV and a blue sedan, possibly a Hyundai or Kia. Probable cause was established for robbery in the second degree, and an area search was conducted with no positive results. Approximately 30 minutes later, Renton Police aired information about tracking a 3SI tracker from an armed robbery they had just experienced. Units responded to the tracker location and identified vehicles matching the descriptions from the initial robbery in Kent. Both cars attempted to flee, leading to an authorized pursuit. The Kia crashed shortly after the quest commenced, and the driver and passenger fled on foot. A K-9 track was conducted, but the suspects were not located. Guardian One and K-9 units from Auburn and King County assisted in the search without success. Renton Police Department assisted by impounding the Kia due to limited space in Kent and upcoming paving work.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
