Firefighters were busy early Friday morning, May 17 in Kent, extinguishing a fire at an apartment office building and a second fire at a vacant house.<\/p>\n

Firefighters were dispatched at about 12:30 a.m. to a leasing office building for the Renew Water’s Edge Apartments in the 6200 block of South 238th Place<\/a> in the Valley, according to Puget Sound Fire.<\/p>\n

Firefighters arrived and found fire coming from a two-story office and recreation building. Firefighters extinguished the fire in approximately 45 minutes.<\/p>\n

While firefighters were extinguishing the fire, a portion of the roof collapsed. The building was not occupied at the time of the fire and there were no injuries to firefighters.<\/p>\n

The cause of the fire is under investigation.<\/p>\n

South King Fire & Rescue, Valley Regional Fire Authority, King County Medic One, the Zone 3 Fire Cadets and Kent Police also responded to the fire.<\/p>\n

Vacant house fire<\/strong><\/p>\n

At about 3:30 a.m., Puget Sound Fire was dispatched to a structure fire on the East Hill in the 26100 block of 116th Avenue <\/a>SE<\/a>. Firefighters arrived and found a fully involved single-story boarded up building.<\/p>\n

For the safety of firefighters, the fire was fought defensively using master streams from an engine and ladder truck, according to Puget Sound Fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire in just over 30 minutes.<\/p>\n

There were no injuries, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.<\/p>\n

Valley Regional Fire Authority, King County Medic One, the Zone 3 Fire Cadets and Kent Police also responded to this incident.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
