Kent police responded to a domestic violence case on April 28 that ultimately resulted in the death of a 28-year-old Kent woman from life-threatening injuries reportedly inflicted by her mother.<\/p>\n
On Sunday evening, police were dispatched to an apartment on the 1600 block of West Smith Street after receiving a domestic violence assault report. Once police arrived, the Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority was already treating the woman, who had significant injuries, according to the police. <\/p>\n
The Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority reportedly notified the police after learning a family member had caused the victim’s injuries.<\/p>\n
The police determined the 58-year-old mother of the victim was the aggressor in the assault, according to the Kent Police Department.<\/p>\n
Still at the scene, the victim’s condition quickly worsened, and medics began CPR measures before taking her to a local hospital, according to police. Although receiving lifesaving medical aid, the woman died on April 29. <\/p>\n
The victim’s mother was arrested and booked into King County Jail the night of the incident. Kent police detectives are investigating. <\/p>\n
