For the Reporter<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n The Seattle Thunderbirds defeated the Spokane Chiefs 4-3 Sunday morning in a preseason game at the Everett Silvertips Holiday Inn Preseason Classic at Xfinity Arena.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The T-Birds finished the Classic with a 2-1-0-0 record.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The T-Birds’ next preseason appearance will be in Kennewick at the Red Lion Hotels’ Preseason Tournament at the Toyota Center. The T-Birds play the Kootenay Ice at 3 p.m. Friday and face the Tri-City Americans at 7:05 p.m. Saturday.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Seattle took a 1-0 lead at 7:53 of the first period on Elijah Brown’s first goal of the preseason. Bryan Allbee took a slap shot from the right point with Brown in front of Spokane goalie Donovan Buskey. Brown knocked the rebound of the shot through the goalie’s legs for the goal. Alexander True had the second assist.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Spokane tied the game 1-1 at 9:29 of the first on a goal from Taylor Ross.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Ethan Bear gave the T-Birds a 2-1 lead at 3:59 of the second period on a power play slap shot goal. True and Keegan Kolesar had the assists.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The Chiefs took a 3-2 lead on two goals from Eli Zummack.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Matt Berlin replaced Donovan Buskey midway through the second period. Buskey made 18 saves on 20 shots.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Brandon Schuldhaus tied the game 3-3 at 19:18 of the second on a slap shot. Kolesar and Garan Magnes worked the puck to Schuldhaus to set up the tying goal.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Seattle outshot Spokane 10-7 in the second period and led 26-18 in shots after two periods.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The T-Birds took a 4-3 lead on a power-play goal from Scott Eansor 1:04 into the third period. Schuldhaus and Nolan Volcan had the assists.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Spokane pulled Berlin with 1:42 left in the game for an extra attacker. The T-Birds were able to hold off the Chiefs and secure the win.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The T-Birds outshot the Chiefs 32-28 in the game.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Seattle goalie Ryan Gilchrist made 25 saves on 28 shots in the win.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
