California-based Curry Pizza House has opened its first location in the Pacific Northwest on the East Hill of Kent.

The restaurant plans a grand opening sometime in March at 25666 104th Ave. SE in the Kent Hill Plaza Shopping Center, according to a company press release. The location is north of The Home Depot.

Curry Pizza House, a fast-casual multi-location restaurant, blends the bold flavors of traditional Indian cuisine with the classic American pizza to create their signature “Fresh and Spicy” pizzas, according to the company. Founded by an émigré from Northern India, the menu combines his love of pizza in his adoptive country with the Indian curries and seasonings of his childhood.

Hours at the Kent location are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

“We are thrilled at the opportunity to bring this delicious concept, which seamlessly melds two cultures and invites everyone to the table for a ‘fresh and spicy’ experience,” Kent franchisee Kunwar Brar said.

A hallmark of Curry Pizza House’s cuisine is their creative deployment of spices and traditional Indian flavors with an eye towards fresh ingredients.

Founded in 2012 in Fremont, California, Curry Pizza House now has locations across California, Nevada and Texas. Later this year, the company plans to open its first locations in Georgia and Oregon and will be adding restaurants in Texas and California.
