A 17-year-old boy was fatally shot Tuesday night, Feb. 20 in Kent along East Valley Highway, just south of South 180th <\/a>Street<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Mohamed-Amin Farah died of a gunshot wound of the head while riding in a vehicle and the manner of death is homicide, according to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office Feb. 22 report.<\/p>\n

Initial indications are that subjects in two separate vehicles exchanged gunfire, causing the injury to the teen, according to a Feb. 21 Kent Police news release.<\/p>\n

Officers were dispatched at about 9:38 p.m. to the Valley Medical Center in Renton after hospital staff called 911 to report Farah with a bullet wound to his head, according to police. Dispatch advised that the teen had been dropped off by two unidentified males who then fled the area.<\/p>\n

Hospital staff provided lifesaving medical aid, but Farah did not survive his injuries.<\/p>\n

Officers located witnesses and evidence that Farah was shot on East Valley Highway, just south of South 180th Street, in Kent near the city border of Renton.<\/p>\n

Detectives responded to the scene and are conducting an extensive investigation.<\/p>\n
