The Kent Reporter’s female athlete of the week for the week of Dec. 22 is Kentlake High School senior Morgan Martinsons, gymnastics.<\/p>\n
What is your favorite subject\/class in school?<\/strong><\/p>\n My favorite subject in school is math. I enjoy problem solving and working with numbers. There is a sense of fulfillment after solving a difficult or long problem and I also enjoy statistics problems where English, math, science, and overall problem solving comes together.<\/p>\n Name your Mount Rushmore (Top 4) favorite movies:<\/strong><\/p>\n Waterboy, Forrest Gump, The Pursuit of Happiness,<\/p>\n Who is the person in your life that has helped you succeed the most?<\/strong><\/p>\n The person who has helped me the most in my life is my Grandpa Lamar. He is the most intelligent man I know, and he is always able to provide some of his own knowledge no matter the topic. He is wise beyond his years and extremely selfless.<\/p>\n You’re on a long road trip, you stop at a gas station. You get one drink and one snack. What are you choosing?<\/strong><\/p>\n I would choose Orange Juice and a bag of powdered donuts.<\/p>\n Describe your pre-game ritual:<\/strong><\/p>\n In gymnastics, its not only competitive, but also presentational. Therefore, I do makeup and hair and try to look very presentable. I usually call my grandparents and drink lots of water before meet.<\/p>\n Song you currently can’t stop listening to?<\/strong><\/p>\n “Wondering Why” by The Red Clay Strays<\/p>\n From the sidelines:<\/strong> Morgan goes above and beyond the typical athlete’s role. She has shown remarkable commitment to the sport and inspiring\/helping teammates. Her hard work, resilience, and sportsmanship have not only contributed to her personal success but have also elevated the entire team. As a coach, it’s truly gratifying to see an athlete like Morgan embody the values we hold dear – discipline, passion, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.
