A New Year’s Eve shooting in Auburn at a residential party resulted in the hospitalization of a man.<\/p>\n
According to the Auburn Police Department, the suspect of the shooting remains at-large, as of Jan. 2.<\/p>\n
Auburn police responded at around 10:30 p.m. Dec. 31 to reports of a shooting in the 29000 block of 55th Place South, according to the department. Officers arrived to find a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound.<\/p>\n
Another bullet grazed a second victim who refused medical attention at the scene.<\/p>\n
Through investigation of the incident, police learned that the suspect was firing rounds into the air outside the party when another man confronted him and told him to stop, according to the department. The suspect stopped and a confrontation ensued between the suspect and victim within the residence that resulted in the one man shooting the other man.<\/p>\n
According to the department, the shooting victim was conscious and alert when police arrived. First responders transported the man to a local hospital.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
