Didn\u2019t take the Kent-Meridian Royals long to bounce right back.<\/p>\n

One week after a disappointing boys track loss to Federal Way, the Royals firmed up their grip on second place and stayed in the hunt for first in the South Puget Sound League North Division by getting past Kentwood 72.5-63.5.<\/p>\n

At 3-1, K-M remained ahead of Jefferson, (2-1, but idle last Thursday because the Federal Way District was on spring break) and right on the heels of Federal Way (3-0).<\/p>\n

K-M got a boost by posting the only 1-2-3 sweep of the meet, that in the shot put from Marlow Brim (46-1), Stephen Foster (46-1) and Sean Harris (45-0). Foster also won the discus with a fling of 125-61\u20442, and teammate Denzel Johnson was third at 122-9. K-M got 15 of a possible 18 points in the two throwing events.<\/p>\n

Delandre Woods and Artise Gaudlin went 1-2 in the 200 for the Royals, and Harris easily was first to the finish line in his specialty, the 110-meter hurdles in 14.6.<\/p>\n

Andre Moore flew 44 feet, 101\u20442 inches to take the triple jump for Kent-Meridian, Aaron Smith cleared 11 feet to win the pole vault, and D.J. Jigre won the 3,200 meters in 10:36.0.<\/p>\n

For Kentwood (1-3). Devin St. Clair set the pace in the 100 meters (10.60, the 400 (50.2) and the long jump (21-7\u00bd). Distance man Chris Selvar led the way in the 800 (2:04.4) and the 1,600 (4:43.2).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
