{"id":64240,"date":"2023-09-11T13:07:00","date_gmt":"2023-09-11T20:07:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/sports\/kent-museum-to-feature-seattle-thunderbirds-hockey-exhibit\/"},"modified":"2023-09-11T13:07:00","modified_gmt":"2023-09-11T20:07:00","slug":"kent-museum-to-feature-seattle-thunderbirds-hockey-exhibit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/sports\/kent-museum-to-feature-seattle-thunderbirds-hockey-exhibit\/","title":{"rendered":"Kent Museum to feature Seattle Thunderbirds hockey exhibit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Greater Kent Historical Society&rsquo;s Kent Museum will host a special Seattle Thunderbirds junior hockey team exhibit from Saturday, Sept. 16 through Saturday, Oct. 14.<\/p>\n<p>Cool Bird, the team mascot, will make a special appearance to help celebrate the opening of the display, which is from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16.<\/p>\n<p>The team has brought memorabilia, trophies, jerseys and photos to display in the museum for a limited time. The Thunderbirds won the Western Hockey League title in 2023. The team has played home games at the accesso ShoWare Center in Kent since 2009 and previously played in Seattle. The T-Birds home opener for the 2023-2024 season is at 6:05 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3o against the Portland Winterhawks.<\/p>\n<p>The museum is at 855 E. Smith St. The hours are noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. The museum is closed Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. The cost is $2 per person. Children 4 and younger get in for free.
