Kent-based Rainier Youth Choirs is looking for members during its open enrollment for the upcoming September through June season.

Singers in the second through 12th grades are encouraged to apply as the group enters its 17th season. Rehearsals are on Monday evenings at Cedar Heights Middle School in Covington (beginning on Sept. 18) and public concerts are presented in December and May.

The season culminates with a festival performance and ceremony at Wild Waves in Federal Way for the younger age choirs. The middle and high school age ensembles will participate in a national choral festival held in San Diego in early summer 2024.

Rainier Youth Choirs’ vision: “To sing, to build community and to change lives.” The nonprofit group has no religious affiliation.

The choirs include entry level, beginning, intermediate and advanced. Membership ranges from $75 to $125 per month, depending on the choir. Financial assistance is readily available. Indicate your need on the registration form.

Auditions are no longer required for membership except to confirm an ability to match pitch, focus in class and cooperate well with others.
