{"id":63978,"date":"2023-08-29T12:25:00","date_gmt":"2023-08-29T19:25:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/kent-man-22-dies-in-two-vehicle-collision-along-canyon-drive\/"},"modified":"2023-08-29T16:09:37","modified_gmt":"2023-08-29T23:09:37","slug":"kent-man-22-dies-in-two-vehicle-collision-along-canyon-drive","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/kent-man-22-dies-in-two-vehicle-collision-along-canyon-drive\/","title":{"rendered":"Kent man, 22, dies in two-vehicle collision along Canyon Drive | Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 22-year-old Kent man died after a two-vehicle collision Monday evening, Aug. 28 <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/ZixE9ze3SvpaxT2t9\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"map\" rel=\"noopener\">in the 9000 block of Canyon Drive, just east of <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/ZixE9ze3SvpaxT2t9\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"map\" rel=\"noopener\">downtown<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Dennis Ndungwa died of multiple blunt force injuries, according to the King County Medical Examiner&rsquo;s Aug. 29 media report.<\/p>\n<p>Kent Police and Puget Sound Fire were dispatched at about 6:46 p.m. after multiple 911 calls reporting a serious injury crash, according to an Aug. 29 Kent Police statement. Witnesses reported seeing a gold sedan collide with a blue minivan and then leave the roadway into a wooded area, according to police.<\/p>\n<p>Officers and firefighters found Ndungwa in the sedan with life-threatening injuries and started medical aid, but the man died at the scene, according to police. A second occupant of the sedan and the lone occupant of the minivan were transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Initial information gathered at the scene suggests that the sedan&rsquo;s speed was a contributing factor to the crash, according to police.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information to share is asked to contact the Kent Police tip line at 253-856-5808 or email KPDTipLine@kentwa.gov. Refer to case No. 23-11449.<\/p>\n<p>This is the second fatal crash in Kent in three days.
