The city of Kent will host a free recycling collection event for items typically not accepted at the curb from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday, Aug. 18 at Hogan Park, 24400 Russell Road.<\/p>\n
Instead of going to the landfill as trash, all collected items will be reused or recycled.<\/p>\n
Items that will be accepted include:<\/p>\n
• TVs & electronics: TVs (TV sets encased in plastic, wood console, sets encased in wood, and big screens accepted), computers, desktops, laptops, monitors, tablets, e-readers, cellphones, DVD\/Blu-ray players, fax machines, holiday lights, keyboards and mice, microwaves, remote controls, scanners, VCRs, wires.<\/p>\n
• Document Shredding: Bring your sensitive documents to shred in our safe and secure shredding truck. Limited to 3 legal sized boxes.<\/p>\n
• Paint: House paint (latex or oil-based), stains, primers, sealers, clear finishes (e.g., varnishes, shellacs, lacquers).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
