Be a part of Arbor Day in Kent.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Volunteers of all ages and abilities can be a part of the work party set for 9 a.m. to noon, April 27 at West Fenwick Park, 3808 Reith Road, Kent (42nd Avenue South and Reith Road).<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Orientation begins at 9 a.m. Please arrive on time.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Crews plan to remove invasive plants in a few overgrown areas; plant native trees and shrubs in the cleared areas; add weed barrier and mulch, then water the plants.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The event is for volunteers of all ages and abilities: students earning community service hours, families, individuals, scout troops, faith-based and corporate groups.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Kent has been named a Tree City USA city by the Arbor Day Foundation for the past 11 consecutive years.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Please register by noon April 24.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
