Kent Police are asking for the public’s help to identify the driver of a car reportedly involved in a fatal hit-and-run on Dec. 27, 2022 along West James Street in Kent.<\/p>\n
“The traffic investigators have workable leads and are looking for any additional information that may help to confirm the identity of the driver,” according to a May 30 Kent Police statement.<\/p>\n
Police want people to come forward if they were in the area at the time of the incident or know anyone who was involved as a driver, or passenger, in the suspect vehicle.<\/p>\n
Officers responded at about 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 27, 2022 to a vehicle hitting a pedestrian incident along West James Street, just west of Fourth Avenue North. The suspect vehicle drove up on a sidewalk, struck a light pole and then hit a 62-year-old woman from Federal Way, according to police. The woman was standing near the bus stop on the north side of West James Street. She died at the scene.<\/p>\n
Police found the suspect vehicle abandoned the next day a few blocks away.<\/p>\n
