Alan Hinton and Gerry Gray will be special guests of the Tacoma Stars at their Major Arena Soccer League game against the Mesquite Outlaws at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, March 18 at the accesso ShoWare Center in Kent.<\/p>\n
Hinton coached the Stars from 1985 to 1990. He coached the Seattle Sounders from 1980 to 1982. The Sounders lost 1-0 to the New York Cosmos in the 1982 Soccer Bowl of the North American Soccer League, which disbanded in 1984.<\/p>\n
Grey was a player\/coach for Tacoma from 2010 to 2012. He played for Canada in the 1984 Olympics and in the 1982 World Cup.<\/p>\n
Hinton and Gray will be featured as part of Retro\/Alumni night. The two will be celebrated at halftime and will be signing autographs prior to the game, according to a ShoWare Center press release. The team will wear retro jerseys.<\/p>\n
The Stars, as of March 9, were 8-7-1 and in sixth place in the Western Conference.<\/p>\n
