Lifeguards are wanted by the city of Kent Parks Department for summer work at Lake Meridian Park.<\/p>\n
Applicants should be trained and certified lifeguards. The pay is $20 to $25 per hour depending on experience. The hours vary but can be up to 40 hours per week from mid-June through Labor Day.<\/p>\n
Interested appicants have:<\/p>\n
• Current American Red Cross advanced lifesaving or lifeguard training certificate<\/p>\n
• Current American Red Cross standard first aid certificate<\/p>\n
• Current American Red Cross CPR for the professional rescuer certificate required<\/p>\n
Up to 20 positions are available. Openings will remain until filled. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.<\/p>\n
The essential duties and responsibilities:<\/p>\n
• Under the direction of an assigned beach manager, the lifeguard assists in providing a safe environment for patrons of a specific recreational area; oversees public activities; safeguards patrons; maintains order; acts in the event of an emergency and administers first aid when necessary; works as part of a team with other lifeguards; participates in the in-service training program; maintains records as assigned; attends all beach staff meetings; maintains equipment and grounds; uses corrective lenses if needed to maintain 20\/20 vision when on duty; and performs other related duties as assigned.<\/p>\n
