The two people fatally shot in a double homicide Jan. 31 at a Kent motel have been identified as Sean Peoples, 43, and Sharmayne Jackson, 32.<\/p>\n

Peoples and Jackson each died from multiple gunshot wounds, according to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office Feb. 3 media report. Kent Police reported that Peoples was from Kent and Jackson from Alaska.<\/p>\n

Officers found Peoples and Jackson dead after responding at about 10:23 p.m. Jan. 31 to the Kent Valley Motel, 743 Central Ave. N., according to Kent Police. Dispatch received multiple 911 calls reporting sounds of gunshots from inside one of the rooms.<\/p>\n

A suspect has not been identified. Early reports indicated that it was not a random incident, according to police.<\/p>\n

Kent detectives are asking that anyone with information about the incident call 253-856-5808 or email KPDTips@kentwa.gov.<\/p>\n

Prior motel incident<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Sept. 9, 2022, law enforcement agencies raided a room at the Kent Valley Motel and took a man into custody on federal drug trafficking charges after they executed a search warrant. Inside the motel room, investigators reportedly found one kilogram of suspected narcotics, over 15 pounds of suspected narcotics, hundreds of suspected narcotics pills and approximately $147,300 in U.S. currency, according to U.S. Department of Justice court documents.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
