POLICE BLOTTER:

A Kent Police officer pulled over a woman driver for driving without headlights at about midnight Dec. 1 near Second Avenue North and Smith Street. The officer soon discovered a few other troublesome things about her.

She had a warrant on a prostitution charge out of Federal Way. She also had no proof of auto insurance. A police dog searched the car and located a marijuana pipe in the car’s center console, according to the police report.

Police arrested the woman for investigation of possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers also cited her for driving without headlights during dark and for not having car insurance.

The woman told officers she no longer works as a prostitute. She also said she did not smoke marijuana and didn’t know anything about the pipe found in the car.

Malicious mischief

Police arrested a man for investigation of malicious mischief after he reportedly broke a motel-room window Dec. 4 in the 25000 block of Pacific Highway South.

Police received a call of a possible domestic violence incident at the motel.

A responding officer saw a man holding a piece of wood and trying to force his way into a room that his girlfriend occupied. The officer pulled out a Taser gun and ordered the man to drop the piece of wood. He hesitated, but then dropped the wood. The boyfriend reportedly had been having a dispute with his girlfriend and had broken a window at a room next door.

Assault

A woman told police that her live-in boyfriend of nearly three years had punched her in the face during an incident Dec. 1 at an apartment in the 23800 block of 30th Avenue South.

Officers arrested the man for investigation of fourth-degree assault. The woman also sustained a bruised calf muscle during the incident, according to the police report.

The woman told police she feared reporting the incident because she might get kicked out of her apartment. Officers told the woman they would give her information to a domestic-violence advocate to help deal with her boyfriend and her living arrangements.

Robbery

A man reportedly pushed another man against a wall and took his cell phone during an incident at about 7:45 p.m. Dec. 2 at a parking lot in the 400 block of East Smith Street.

The person who called in the attack told officers he was text-messaging a friend on his cell phone, near where a scuffle broke out among several men he did not know. One of the men came over to him and demanded the cell phone.

The man said he had refused to give up his cell phone, so the other man pushed him against a wall and grabbed it out of his hand.

The man told police he thought the attacker might have taken the phone so he would not call police to report the fight.

Police closed the case because of lack of information about the man who took the phone.
