{"id":60782,"date":"2022-11-07T16:45:00","date_gmt":"2022-11-08T00:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/kent-police-arrest-shooting-multiple-carjackings-suspect\/"},"modified":"2022-11-07T16:45:00","modified_gmt":"2022-11-08T00:45:00","slug":"kent-police-arrest-shooting-multiple-carjackings-suspect","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/kent-police-arrest-shooting-multiple-carjackings-suspect\/","title":{"rendered":"Kent Police arrest shooting, multiple carjackings suspect"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kent Police arrested a man for investigation of a Seattle shooting and multiple carjackings.<\/p>\n<p>Officers responded at about 1:51 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7 <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/pi8d7NUEaP5emmXR8\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"map\" rel=\"noopener\">to the 6400 block of South 212th Street <\/a>regarding a Seattle Police request to locate a stolen vehicle, according to Kent Police.<\/p>\n<p>The man had reportedly been involved in a shooting and carjacking in Seattle just prior to 1 p.m. in the 2300 block of Eastlake Avenue East, according to the Seattle Police Blotter. The vehicle owner had been shot in the leg.<\/p>\n<p>Kent officers located the vehicle at a business in the 6400 block of South 212th Street and immediately set up a perimeter around the area. Officers laid down multiple sets of spike strips to slow down the vehicle in the event it attempted to leave the parking lot.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect did flee, driving on deflated tires, according to Kent Police. He was taken into custody without incident following a short pursuit that ended in Renton. The man was reportedly in possession of a stolen firearm when arrested.<\/p>\n<p>Bellevue Police also suspect the man in a carjacking at gunpoint earlier Monday. Kent Police had a similar carjacking at about 11:45 a.m. on the East Hill. Detectives are trying to determine if that carjacking is related to the incidents in Seattle and Bellevue.<\/p>\n<p>Seattle Police will take custody of the man, according to Kent Police.
