The Kent-based Seattle Thunderbirds will play the Spokane Chiefs in a Western Hockey League game on Tuesday, Dec. 27 at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle.<\/p>\n
The T-Birds, in partnership with the Seattle Kraken, Climate Pledge Arena and the Chiefs, announced the game in a Nov. 2 press release. The game had been scheduled for the same date at the accesso ShoWare Center in Kent.<\/p>\n
“We are privileged to play another U. S. Division rival at Climate Pledge Arena,” T-Birds President Colin Campbell said. “Last season was a terrific atmosphere, and we can’t wait to play under the iconic roof again. We are grateful for the opportunity provided by the Seattle Kraken and Climate Pledge Arena to host another game against our rivals from the east side of our state and are excited to help grow hockey in the community. This is the second year of what is becoming a marquee event for hockey fans across the state to gather and watch future NHL stars, today.”<\/p>\n
The Kraken leaders are glad to promote the local teams.<\/p>\n
“Our hockey community features two great junior hockey teams who are developing the stars of the future,” said Kraken CEO Tod Leiweke in reference to the T-Birds and the Everett Silvertips. “They have great fans and are a huge part of our hockey ethos. We are proud to host this game and to build new hockey traditions.”<\/p>\n
The T-Birds played Everett Feb. 26 at Climate Pledge Arena. The game attracted more than 8,000 fans against the T-Birds’ I-5 rival.<\/p>\n
Tickets to the Dec. 27 game go on sale Nov. 9 to the public with a pre-sale opportunity to the season ticket holders of the Kraken, T-Birds and Chiefs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
