Auburn Police are looking for the suspect in a car bombing that took place during a funeral on Tuesday, August 23.<\/p>\n

During a funeral at Mountain View Cemetery, 2020 Mountain View Drive, a person put an explosive device in the car of one of the attendees, according to the Auburn Police Department in a Sept. 12 Facebook post. The bomb detonated, destroying the victim’s car and surrounding trees with an intense fire.<\/p>\n

The cost of the damage is not yet known and police haven’t identified a motive for the bombing, a spokesperson for the Auburn Police Department said.<\/p>\n

City employees followed the suspect’s vehicle as it fled the cemetery, a passenger in the suspect vehicle started shooting at the city employees in pursuit. No one was injured by the bomb or the shooting, according to an Auburn police spokesperson.<\/p>\n

The suspect vehicle is a dark-colored sedan and thought to be a black Acura RL. The person who planted the bomb wore a ski mask during the crime and was described as a tall man.<\/p>\n
