{"id":59994,"date":"2022-09-02T18:03:00","date_gmt":"2022-09-03T01:03:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/kent-school-district-says-prepare-for-potential-school-closure-sept-6\/"},"modified":"2022-09-02T18:03:00","modified_gmt":"2022-09-03T01:03:00","slug":"kent-school-district-says-prepare-for-potential-school-closure-sept-6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/kent-school-district-says-prepare-for-potential-school-closure-sept-6\/","title":{"rendered":"Kent School District says prepare for potential school closure Sept. 6"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Kent School District announced Friday evening, Sept. 2 that it will send communications to families and staff over the weekend as the district and striking teachers try to reach a contract agreement.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Please be prepared to make alternate arrangements for Tuesday, Sept. 6, for potential continued school closure,&rdquo; according to the district statement.<\/p>\n<p>Teachers walked out Aug. 25, the scheduled opening day of school. The strike hit its seventh school day on Friday. There is no school Monday due to Labor Day.
