A sampling of Kent Police incidents July 26 to Aug. 6:<\/p>\n

July 26<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kidnapping<\/strong>: 3:57 a.m., officers were dispatched to a welfare check at Country Glen Apartments, 27400 132nd Ave. SE. A juvenile female was lying on the ground. She reported that her mother’s abusive boyfriend came to the apartment complex and kidnapped her mother. She jumped on top of the suspect’s vehicle while it was in motion in attempts to help her mother and fell off as it sped away. The mother’s cellphone was tracked to Seattle where officers were able to locate the victim and took the suspect into custody.<\/p>\n

July 28<\/strong><\/p>\n

City vehicle theft<\/strong>: 2 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a vehicle theft that occurred at the intersection of SE 208th Street and 108th Avenue SE. The victim, a city of Kent employee, had his work vehicle parked near the intersection as they were working on a traffic light issue. They discovered the vehicle was missing when they (workers) needed to retrieve a tool from it. Officers were able to track the employee’s cellphone and found the city vehicle at Willis Street And Central Avenue South unoccupied. The suspect kept the city employee’s phone which was tracked to a residence on Bridges Avenue. The vehicle keys and cellphone were recovered, and the suspect was taken into custody.<\/p>\n

July 29<\/strong><\/p>\n

Robbery<\/strong>: 7:44 p.m., officers were dispatched to a robbery at Timber Ridge Apartments, 25131 98th Place S. The victim was walking back to her apartment after getting her mail when an unknown suspect randomly approached her asking for her wallet and keys. The suspect pulled out a handgun and eventually tried to snatch the keys out of her hand. The suspect ripped the key fob to her vehicle off the key chain and left the area in a silver sedan.<\/p>\n

July 31<\/strong><\/p>\n

Street races assault<\/strong>: 12:18 a.m., officers were dispatched to an assault with a weapon that occurred in the north end of Kent. The victim had been assaulted while attending the street races in the area of 6000 South 196th St. The incident occurred when the victim saw the suspect randomly sitting in the driver’s seat of his (the victim’s) vehicle. The victim confronted the suspect. The suspect pistol whipped the victim across the face. This caused the victim to drop his phone and it also dislodged the magazine from the suspect’s gun. The victim grabbed the magazine off the ground and the suspect grabbed the victim’s phone. After the suspect fled in a vehicle, the victim started to track his phone until it was shut off.<\/p>\n

Homeowner fires shotgun<\/strong>: 4:50 a.m., officers were dispatched to a shooting at the Groves Apartments, 10811 SE 239th Pl. The homeowner had shot out his back window as there were subjects attempting to break in who he believed had been harassing him. The homeowner suffers from possible disorders and had recently been hearing voices and seeing people who are not there after a change in his medication. He fired his 12-gauge shotgun one time from his living room, through his window and it entered into the adjacent apartment where an 18-year-old girl was sleeping a couple feet away. No one was injured, and the shotgun and ammo were taken. The homeowner was taken into custody.<\/p>\n

7-Eleven assault<\/strong>: 7:34 p.m., officers were dispatched to an assault in progress at the 7-Eleven located at 24012 104th Avenue SE. The victim had been sitting outside of the store drinking a beer and asked a younger male (suspect) who was walking into the store for a cigarette. The suspect responded by taking the beer from the victim and throwing it into the parking lot and told him to beg somewhere else. The suspect then assaulted the victim and took whatever money the victim had.<\/p>\n

Aug. 6<\/strong><\/p>\n

Stabbing<\/strong>: 12:22 a.m., officers were dispatched to Valley Medical Center in Renton for a victim who received a stab wound to the leg. The incident took place at his place of employment located in the 7000 block of South 190th St. The victim was walking out to his vehicle to get some water when the unknown suspect rode up to him on a bicycle asking for money. The victim said he didn’t have any, and the suspect asked him for his keys to the vehicle. When the victim denied this request, the suspect stabbed him in the leg. The suspect left the area on the bicycle.<\/p>\n

Injured person found<\/strong>: 2:05 a.m., officers were dispatched to a suspicious circumstance at a residence in the 13100 block of SE 240th St. The homeowner had fallen asleep on his couch and was awaken by sounds coming from inside his home. When he walked to the bathroom to check he found the victim, a complete stranger, inside his apartment covered in blood. The injured person could not or would not answer officers’ questions and was transported to the hospital.<\/p>\n

Shot in leg<\/strong>: 2:53 a.m., officers were dispatched to Valley Medical Center regarding a shooting that had occurred at the 7-Eleven at 511 Central Avenue S. The victim had a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was in the alleyway by the store when he saw the known suspect who he spent time with inside a correctional facility. The victim greeted him, and the suspect became standoffish calling him a “snitch.” The victim eventually made the comment, “or what? are you going to shoot me?” This prompted the suspect to pull out a small handgun and shoot the victim in the leg.<\/p>\n

Train death<\/strong>: 8:42 p.m., officers were dispatched to a train versus pedestrian accident in the area of East Willis Street and Railroad Avenue S. One witness stated the deceased had been on his phone and it appeared he did not see the train coming. While the medical examiner was in the process of taking custody of the deceased; a suspected DUI driver drove into the crime scene, under the crime scene tape and collided with the crossing arms.
