King County Elections posted the first round of results for tonight’s primary, including 9th Congressional District and Legislative District 41 tallies.<\/p>\n

In the 9th, incumbent Adam Smith (D) is running for re-election for the U.S. Representative seat against Doug Basler (R), Sea M. Chan (R), David Michael Anderson (Independent), Seth D. Pedersen (R) and Stephanie Gallardo (D).<\/p>\n

Tonight’s initial results rolled in at: Smith (57.24% — 44,885 votes), Basler (20.73% — 16,257), Gallardo (13.45% — 10,545), Chan (3.84% — 3,012), Pedersen (3.46% — 2,713) and Anderson (1.13% — 886). Write-in: 0.15% (117).<\/p>\n

The top two candidates in the primary advance to the Nov. 8 general election.<\/p>\n

In the 41st, Democrats Tana Senn and My-Linh T. Thai are seeking re-election for their seats.<\/p>\n

Mike Nykreim, who prefers the Election Integrity Party, is challenging Senn for the State Representative Pos. 1 spot. Both candidates will run in the Nov. 8 election. Tonight’s results stand at: Senn (79.46% — 16,220 votes) and Nykreim (19.69% — 4,020). Write-in: 0.85% (174).<\/p>\n

Over in the State Representative Pos. 2 race, Thai is running against Al Rosenthal (R) and Elle Nguyen (R). The top two candidates will advance to the Nov. 8 election, and the early results were unveiled tonight: Thai (70.23% — 15,263 votes), Rosenthal (21.75% — 4,727) and Nguyen (7.83% — 1,702).
