Christine Gregoire appeared to sail to re-election Tuesday night with the major networks and local affiliates all calling the election in her favor.<\/p>\n<p>In a short press conference at 10:30 a.m. today, Republican candidate Dino Rossi announced he had called the governor to concede and said he had no plans to run for office in the future.<\/p>\n<p>Rossi said while there were still votes to be counted, the remaining votes did not appear to be enough to overcome Gregoire&#8217;s lead.<\/p>\n<p>As of Wednesday morning&#8217;s count, Gregoire received more than 53 percent of the vote and led Rossi by more than 100,000 votes.<\/p>\n<p>Gregoire claimed victory Tuesday night after all of the major networks called the election in her favor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After needing three counts and several days to claim victory in 2004, Gov.
