Enjoy a free evening of music and art at the city of Kent Parks, Recreation and Community Services 50 Plus Program eighth annual Music and Art Showcase.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The event, formerly known as a jazz and art showcase, runs from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 25 at the Kent Senior Activity Center, 600 E. Smith St.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Jazz Pianist Richard Dean will play the baby grand in the midst of an indoor art exhibit and demonstration by the Kent Valley Artists.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Free concerts are offered on the south lawn featuring James Caddell, bass singer with the Main Attraction, who is releasing a solo jazz album soon.\u00a0 The nationally acclaimed a cappella artists The Coats, whose 12th full-length album Highway 1 was released recently, headline the event.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Limited indoor and outdoor seating is on a first come, first served basis and guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and umbrellas for the rain or shine outdoor concerts.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Free desserts are offered by Stafford Suites (while supplies last) and the Mitzel\u2019s American Kitchen mobile food truck will be on site offering discounted dinners. The Mocktail Garden will offer made-to-order non-alcoholic drinks for a donation.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Free informational booths are hosted by event co-sponsors whose contributions make it possible for the event to be offered to the entire community for no charge.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
