{"id":56686,"date":"2022-04-14T12:25:00","date_gmt":"2022-04-14T19:25:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/kent-man-60-dies-in-west-valley-highway-head-on-collision\/"},"modified":"2022-04-14T12:28:49","modified_gmt":"2022-04-14T19:28:49","slug":"kent-man-60-dies-in-west-valley-highway-head-on-collision","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/kent-man-60-dies-in-west-valley-highway-head-on-collision\/","title":{"rendered":"Kent man, 60, dies in West Valley Highway head-on collision"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 60-year-old Kent man died early Thursday morning, April 14 in a head-on collision <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/Uuozr8ohegwNwK2DA\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"map\" rel=\"noopener\">in the 18300 block of West Valley Highway<\/a> in Kent, just south of South 180th Street.<\/p>\n<p>The crash occurred at about 5:52 a.m., according to an email from Kent Police Assistant Chief Jarod Kasner.<\/p>\n<p>The Kent man was driving northbound on the West Valley Highway when he reportedly crossed the center line and collided with a vehicle traveling southbound, Kasner said. Speed and weather may have been contributing factors to the collision.<\/p>\n<p>Paramedics transported a 50-year-old Auburn man, who was driving the southbound vehicle, to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Kasner said.<\/p>\n<p>A semi driver also involved in the collision was not injured.
