Des Moines Police arrested a 46-year-old SeaTac man who reportedly shot two other men at a northbound bus stop along Pacific Highway South, just north of Kent Des Moines Road.<\/p>\n

Officers made the arrest after multiple 911 calls at about 6:08 p.m. Monday, March 28 about a man walking around while holding a handgun in the area of South 272nd Street and Pacific Highway South<\/a> on the Kent\/Des Moines city border, according to a March 29 Des Moines Police press release.<\/p>\n

Witnesses reported the man got onto a Metro bus which stopped near South 240th Street and Pacific Highway South. Officers contacted the man and recognized him from surveillance video as the same suspect who reportedly shot a man in each of his arms at about 4:44 a.m. Monday at a bus stop after both men had departed a bus. The man fled on foot after the shooting.<\/p>\n

Police recovered a handgun from the man and arrested him for investigation of felony assault and weapon charges. The man reportedly has a lengthy and violent criminal history, including nine felony charges, according to Des Moines Police.<\/p>\n

A man in his early 50s, who was shot in each arm during the confrontation, is recovering at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, according to police. Police have not said what led to the confrontation between the two men. <\/p>\n

Prior to this bus stop shooting, there were three shootings in four days Nov. 24-27, 2021 at a bus stop in Kent along Pacific Highway South, just south of Kent Des Moines Road. A Federal Way man was fatally shot in one of those shootings. Another Federal Way was charged with first-degree murder.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
