A 19-year-old man died in a shooting at Veterans Memorial Park, 411 E. St. NE, on Wednesday evening, Feb. 23, according to Auburn Police.<\/p>\n
The Auburn Police Department is investigating the case as a possible homicide, but as of Thursday afternoon police had no suspects in custody.<\/p>\n
The victim’s name and his city of residence have not been released.<\/p>\n
“We are currently waiting for autopsy results and detectives are following up on locating potential suspects,” Kolby Crossley, public information officer for the Auburn Police Department, said Thursday afternoon.<\/p>\n
Police responded to the park at about 6:15 p.m after hearing from multiple neighbors that they had heard gunshots in the area and found the man on the ground with a single gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of paramedics, the man died at the scene.<\/p>\n
Police do not yet have a motive for the shooting.<\/p>\n
