The Kent-Yangzhou Sister City Committee is offering Kent youth the opportunity to participate in its 13th annual Youth Ambassador cultural exchange program with Yangzhou, China.

The committee sends two students from Kent to Yangzhou in July/August for three weeks. In exchange, the two Yangzhou students visit Kent as Chinese youth ambassadors for a three-week stay with the Kent ambassadors’ families. Teens aged 14-17 who are currently enrolled and in good standing as a freshman, sophomore or junior attending home, public, or private school in the greater Kent area are encouraged to apply for the program. Airfare is sponsored by the committee.

The students have a culturally rich time in China living with their host families and visiting sites in Yangzhou. Many Kent ambassadors have stated it was a life-changing experience enhancing their college resume. April 1 is the deadline for applicants.
