{"id":52385,"date":"2021-10-21T11:52:00","date_gmt":"2021-10-21T18:52:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/kent-man-killed-by-train-while-standing-on-tracks\/"},"modified":"2021-10-21T11:52:00","modified_gmt":"2021-10-21T18:52:00","slug":"kent-man-killed-by-train-while-standing-on-tracks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/kent-man-killed-by-train-while-standing-on-tracks\/","title":{"rendered":"Kent man killed by train while standing on tracks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 65-year-old Kent man was killed after being hit by a train as he reportedly stood on the BNSF Railway tracks.<\/p>\n<p>Kent Police officers were dispatched at about 8:10 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 20 to <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/mWom5sF3rcJCa1MeA\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"map\" rel=\"noopener\">the 700 block of First Avenue North, just east of Kent Station, <\/a>in regards to a train striking a pedestrian, according to a police statement.<\/p>\n<p>An officer found the man who was non-responsive. Puget Sound Fire personnel provided life-saving treatment but the man died from the injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Officers located a video during the investigation that showed a man on the tracks as the train approached. The train&rsquo;s horn could be heard sounding in the video, but the man remained on the tracks, according to police. The train stopped immediately after the collision.
