A sampling of Kent Police incidents Oct. 1-8:<\/p>\n
Oct. 1<\/strong><\/p>\n Vehicle prowl showdown<\/strong>: 10 a.m., a 75-year-old man confronts suspects prowling vehicles at Scenic Vista Senior Apartments, 26404 104th Ave. SE. Another suspect gets out of the car with what appeared to be a rifle without a buttstock. He threatened to shoot the victim. The victim, fearing he will get shot, closes the distance and punches suspect in the face. The suspect backs off and the suspects leave in the suspect vehicle.<\/p>\n Oct. 6 <\/strong><\/p>\n Robbery suspects <\/strong>caught<\/strong>: 4:49 a.m., officers were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle at “McChevron” (McDonald’s, Chevron same site), 10715 SE 240th St. The description of the vehicle was on a recent bulletin about a series of armed robberies and thefts\/attempted thefts, including trying to steal an ATM, in Kent and surrounding agencies. Officers detained the suspects and impounded the vehicle. Detectives interviewed one of the suspects and eventually both were booked for several charges related to the string of crimes.<\/p>\n Oct. 8<\/strong><\/p>\n Suspect turns himself in<\/strong>: At 2:08 p.m. on Sept. 22, a male suspect entered the Catholic Store at First Avenue and Gowe Street, then proceeded to assault the 70-year-old female employee by knocking her down then punching and kicking her in the head. He also was groping her during the assault, all of which lasted almost two minutes. He quickly ran out of the store in an unknown direction. On Oct. 8, the suspect was brought in by family and surrendered after the photo and video was shown on Crime Stoppers.<\/p>\n Thief caught<\/strong>: 11:37 p.m., officers responded to an alarm at the 76 Station, 21208 68th Ave. S. The glass front door was smashed out and a suspect inside the building was loading tobacco products inside a small garbage can. The suspect then exited the store with product in hand and was confronted by officers. The suspect set the garbage can down and attempted to flee on foot.
