A woman was kidnapped from Dash Point State Park after she and her partner were robbed at gunpoint while camping Sept. 30, according to the Federal Way Police Department.<\/p>\n
At about 8:14 a.m. near the 5700 block of SW Dash Point <\/a>Road<\/a>, the couple was camping at Dash Point State Park, according to police.<\/p>\n They were sleeping in their vehicle because of the rain when an unknown man approached the vehicle, pointed a gun at them and robbed them of their cash and belongings, according to police.<\/p>\n The male suspect then forced the woman to drive to an ATM to withdraw cash, according to police. The suspect fled in the victim’s rental car, which was later located in Fife.<\/p>\n The couple was able to get a Denny’s restaurant employee to call 911, police said. Neither of the victims were injured during the incident.<\/p>\n “We take the safety of our visitors very seriously,” said Amanda McCarthy, communications manager for Washington State Parks. “Our rangers worked quickly to respond to the initial report and contacted additional law enforcement immediately.”<\/p>\n Police said two suspects were involved, but have limited descriptions available.
