There will be a new voice calling all the action this summer for the Wenatchee AppleSox.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Kent native Trevor Williams, who attends the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at Washington State University, has been hired at the team’s radio broadcaster for the 2014 season.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Fans can hear Williams announce all 58 AppleSox game this summer on the team’s new flagship station, 93.9 Sunny FM.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

“Words do not adequately describe how excited and honored I am to be the next radio play-by-play voice of the Wenatchee AppleSox,” said Williams, a Kentwood High School graduate. “I want to thank the AppleSox organization for believing in my abilities and trusting me with this tremendous opportunity.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

“I can’t wait for the start of the 2014 baseball season and am eager share a game that I love with the best fans in the West Coast League,” Williams said. “It is my goal that this season, at the ballpark and on-air, we can all celebrate summer one inning at a time, together.”<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Williams has been active during his time at WSU. He has announced football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, and will begin broadcasting baseball this month for the school’s student radio station,\u00a0kugr.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

<\/a>In addition to his on-air experience at WSU, Williams works for the athletic communications department and has served as a reporter for The Daily Evergreen.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Last summer he interned for Sports Radio 950 KJR in Seattle and was the lead play-by-play announcer for Kentwood basketball for Game Time Northwest.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Williams makes his debut for the AppleSox behind the mic on June 4 when the season begins with a two-game series at home against the San Francisco Seals.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The AppleSox will play a 59-game schedule this summer that includes 32 homes games. Tickets can be purchased by contacting the AppleSox office at 509-665-6900.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

About the Wenatchee AppleSox:<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The Wenatchee AppleSox Baseball Club is part of the West Coast League, one of the premier wood-bat summer collegiate leagues in the country. The AppleSox were founded in 2000 and appeared in the West Coast League Championship Series in 2012.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The team has won the WCL Championship five out of the last nine seasons (2005, 2006, 2009, 2010, and 2012).<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
