The Seattle Thunderbirds got goals from six different players Saturday night to skate to a 6-3 victory over the Swift Current Broncos at the ShoWare Center.

Riley Sheen, Seth Swenson, Branden Troock, Roberts Lipsbergs, Jared Hauf and Justin Hickman had goals for the T-Birds.

Seattle goalie Justin Myles stopped 24 of 27 shots to get the win and improve his record to 5-2-0-0.

Swift Current (6-6-0-1) went in front 1-0 at 13:55 of the first period. Jordan Harris got the puck to Colby Cave in the left circle. Cave beat Myles over the blocker.

The T-Birds outshot the Broncos 13-12 in the first period.

Seattle (9-3-0-1) tied the game 1-1 at 6:03 of the second period. Shea Theodore moved the puck from the left point to Jerret Smith at the right point. Smith took a slap shot with Sheen parked in front of Swift Current goalie Landon Bow. Sheen tipped Smith’s shot past the goalie for his third goal of the year.

The T-Birds extended the lead to 2-1 at 7:23 of the second on a two-on-one break by Swenson and Erik Benoit. Swenson carried the puck into the Broncos’ zone on the left side. Benoit was coming down the slot and was tapping his stick on the ice for the pass. Swenson looked at Benoit as the defenseman went to the ice to block the passing lane. Swenson then snapped the puck over Bow’s glove for the go-ahead goal.

Seattle kept the pressure on and scored at 11:56 of the second to take a 3-1 lead. Theodore passed the puck to Sheen in the left circle. Sheen put a shot on goal. Troock was on top of the crease, grabbed the rebound and slid it past Bow for his fourth goal of the season.

Mathew Barzal and Lipsbergs combined to get the T-Birds fourth goal. Barzal stole the puck from a Swift Current defenseman in the neutral zone to create a two-on-one with Lipsbergs. Barzal passed the puck to Lipsbergs in the left circle and head beat Bow over the glove.

The Broncos cut the T-Birds lead to two goals at 19:04 of the second. Cave won a face-off to Julius Honka at the right point. Honka took a slap shot with traffic in front of Myles. The goalie didn’t see the shot and it beat him over the right shoulder.

Seattle outshot Swift Current 19-6 in the second period and led 32-18 in total shots after two periods.

The Broncos cut the T-Birds lead to one goal at 9:16 of the third period when Coda Gordon scored on a backhand shot from the slot. Connor Sanvido and Honka had the assists.

The T-Birds got the two-goal lead back at 12:24 of the third. Alexander Delnov got the puck in neutral zone and skated up the right wing. He put a shot on goal that Bow blocked to the corner. The puck moved up to the left point right to Hauf. Hauf took a slap shot with traffic in front of Bow and the shot found the back of the net. It was Hauf’s second goal of the year.

They got the three-goal lead back at 13:27 of the third. Lipsbergs got to a loose puck behind the net, skated out the right side and centered the puck to Hickman in the slot. Hickman snapped the puck under Bow for his third goal of the year.

Both teams had nine shots on goal in the third period and the T-Birds finished with a 41-27 advantage in shots.

Bow stopped 35 of 41 shots and his record is now 3-1-0-0.

The T-Birds are at the Tri-City Americans at 7:05 p.m. Friday. They are at home this Saturday for a 7:05 game against the Vancouver Giants at the ShoWare Center.
