{"id":50506,"date":"2021-07-06T14:30:00","date_gmt":"2021-07-06T21:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/truck-fire-closes-hwy-18\/"},"modified":"2021-07-07T15:25:39","modified_gmt":"2021-07-07T22:25:39","slug":"truck-fire-closes-hwy-18","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/truck-fire-closes-hwy-18\/","title":{"rendered":"Truck fire closes Highway 18"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Both directions of Highway 18 are shut down after a semi-truck and a pick-up truck collided then caught fire on Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>South King Fire and Rescue crews responded to the fire around 1:30 p.m. on July 6 along SR 18 and east of Interstate 5 between Federal Way and Auburn.<\/p>\n<p>The collision was between a semi-truck and a pick-up truck, and both vehicles were fully engulfed in flames.<\/p>\n<p>All vehicle occupants <a href=\"https:\/\/mobile.twitter.com\/Southkingfire\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">were reported safe<\/a> with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Washington State Patrol Trooper Rick Johnson.<\/p>\n<p>Crews were able to establish a water supply almost 2,000 feet away to finish extinguishing the flames.<\/p>\n<p>Crews have shut down Highway 18 in both directions between I-5 and Weyerhaeuser Way.
